Rui B. Martins signs for F2. One step larger than his leg?

Rui B. Martins has just announced he has signed for the F2 North American Series this upcoming season. The ambitious fast driver moves into a more competitive scenario right on his third competitive season. After finishing second in the F3 Portuguese Series and third in the F3 North American Series, he does not stop for a breather and rushes into the next level.

Rui, are you confident on this decision or are you afraid you are giving one step larger than your leg?

Joining the F2 on my third competitive season might seem a bit overwhelming at first but I'm confident my abilities are up for the challenge. I've been working real hard and getting faster by the day. I've been beating drivers far more experienced than me and I see no good in staying in F3 another season.

What are your expectations for this season?

I really believe I can get some podiums, maybe even a couple of wins. The car will be the same for every driver, so, in the end of the day, the best driver will win. Hopefully I will overcome my lack of experience and achieve the results I need to improve my reputation and sponsors.

You definitely seem to be confident! If you're half that fast, you might just achieve your goals. Any last words for the fans?

The faster one goes, the bigger the possibility to crash. I am aware I'm going very fast on my carreer. I'll either finish it on the top spots or I'll crash big time on a hard turn. I'd prefer not to crash!
