Прэс-рэлізы - TOYOTA GAZOO SEASON 62 RECAP

As the racing session in Abu Dhabi concludes, so does the 62nd Formula 1 World Series and the 12th year running for Toyota Gazoo Racing.

It cannot be understated that this has been our greatest season to date in every category. We finished with 477 points and 7 wins, both all-time highs for the team, settling into third place in the constructor’s championship for the second time in a row. We battled against very formidable opponents, keeping a decent pace with team Porsche and team Red Bull during a close title fight.

Our pilot’s individual performances have been nothing short of excellent. Despite both drivers having never filled a Toyota seat before season 62, we’ve taken two spots in the top 10 driver’s rankings.

Michael Novikov fell short of a fifth title this season, settling instead into fourth in the standings. He completed four pole positions, four race wins, ten podiums and twenty finishes within the points to cap off a 278 point season. He had a strong shot at taking the world driver’s championship, but was unfortunately held back by three separate engine failures that proved costly in a highly competitive grid. Regardless, his Toyota debut has been very strong, and we’re excited to see what we can accomplish with Novikov alongside us for the future.

Dmitry Starostachev II has seriously exceeded expectations in his rookie season, putting on an exceptional show to begin his career with us. He completed five pole positions, three race wins, five podiums and seventeen finishes within the points to cap off a 199 point season. Starostachev has shown incredible promise, punching up to vetted championship contenders, and our expectations for his future with Toyota Gazoo are high. 

Our largest thanks belong to our fans. Our fanbase and supporters are easily the greatest out of any other in the league. We appreciate and love you all, thank you for following us through this incredibly exciting season. We can’t wait to see you again for season 63!
