Brooks Robinson Season 61 Roundup
Another season of racing is in the books for Brooks Robinson as he continues to improve himself to help out both Phil7 Motorsports and his overlords at Team Canada!
His season started with the very pretentiously named Phil7 Cup, in which he found himself racing among some of the best in the world, where despite never finishing within the Top 10 once throughout, he landed a 16th place finish, showing a mark of consistency in the series.
As part of the "Pegaso Driver Development Programme", Brooks was invited to their U25 Open Series, against some of the best Under 25 drivers in the world, he finished 18th landing himself a podium, but Brooks had mentioned he wishes he could have done more, pointing out his mere 4 Top 10 finishes throughout the 20-race calendar.
One of the bright spots this season for Brooks was his results in NASCAR Trucks, where despite his shaky start at the beginning, finishes 2nd place thanks to a late playoff push and consistent Top 4 finishes. He says he is very happy with the result and hopes to continue moving forward and finish Top 4 again next season as he continues his journey to eventually race in the Gold series. He joins fellow Canadians Riley Lapointe and John Cannon who also took home trophies of their own from NASCAR Silver and Gold respectively.
Nationally, Brooks had a very strong final season in the Under 21 class, where he has finished 4th place and 6th place overall, the season featured a fantastic 4 way race to the crown between Brooks, Jaka Jelenko, Dima Faraonov, and Miha Pavliha II. Unfortunately he couldn't fight them off forever as he stumbled near the end, seeing his lead quickly diminish. He didn't let that deter him from the competition as he finished his season strong nonetheless, finding his 7th win in Sochi, getting him the most wins in Nations Cup by a Canadian since John Cannon had 9 in Season 57. Looking ahead to Season 62, Brooks is going to stay in NASCAR Trucks and continue to improve as he makes his way up the ranks to Silver and Gold!
