What has been lost in MRC
I won a race today purely by Race management skill today in GT. Almost all of MRC season series have been dumbed down to the point of. Rub 40 practice laps per session and 40 warmups on your series allotment of tires. Then run 100% tire aggression in race the race using the max fuel capacity of the car. Some do not even have any pitting. Those series only pace race line and mentals determine the outcome of the race and you poling position. series with no pitting are the trainer series just to get your skills up. But are they a test of managerial skill? Yes and no.
No pitting series means less staff so you can train skills faster. So yes in getting your mentals to 100 faster. But a huge no in preparing you for learning managerial skill need for any series that requires Old school tire management. F1 Indy Gold cup DTWS F world GT WPs all require Managerial skill to win those season series. If you cannot use Tire wear as a a weapon for the series. You have nearly no chance to win those series even with 100 in every driver stat. Thise is how Somebodystopme driver at 40 years old wins races in the 5th best car in f1.
Next we dumbed down the game by adding TCR Motorbikes and Rally's. None of these series prepares you for F1. WE took away by adding F4 also f2 is completely gone. So how are players new to the game ever develop Players skills required to win the top season series. Nearly impossible today. Before f4 the F3 cars you needed to know tire wear. F4 you do not.
By adding so many season series rated as high and if not Higher where Tire wear is bot a consideration mean No managerial skll is required. No managerial skills means you cannot win the series that requires it.
We lost so many great race managers over the years The few that are left. That any change in tire wear will cleanup now. Or a return to more races like F2 that require mangers to THINK before each race Like F2.
