Na de laatste race van de Middle East series was er een groot feest in het paddock van Staal, nadat hij zijn eerst beker wist te winnen door 3de te eindigen in het eindklassement.Staal was helemaal door het dolle heen toen hij hoorde dat hij hoog genoeg was geëindigd om z'n 3de plaats vast te houden. Na de race ging er meteen de frituurpan aan en kwam iedereen tevoorschijn. Staal zei later in een interview dat het z'n mooiste moment was in z'n carrière tot nu toe.
