In a plan that the structure itself defines as "absurdly ambitious," the race would be held on an urban circuit in the city where the team is based. The aim is to create a circuit that an elements of the commercial, industrial and residential centers of the locality, "explains McLaren.

"The team has been a citizen of Woking for nearly 40 years. McLaren has yet to formally present any of his plans to the City Hall because he is a bit scared about what they would think about the extensive and costly remodeling of the many local roads and highlights that will be needed, "he adds.

The route would be 4.85 kilometers long and would pass through the two former McLaren factories on Boundary Road and Albert Drive. The team also suggests that instead of using a single press room, journalists are invited to restaurants, cafes and shopping centers to use "one of the many places with WiFi available in the city." In addition, the paddock would be located on floating pontoons over the Woking-Basingstoke canal with the aim of creating a unique aquatic atmosphere.

Jonathan Neale, chief operating officer of McLaren, supports the idea of ​​holding a Grand Prix at Woking. "Why not? Obviously, apart from the great social and financial commitment needed to create infrastructure, reform roads, relocate Tarmac, fit thousands of guardrails, build grandstands, pay fees to host the race and have FIA ​​approval, I do not see any Impediment to our vision, "he says.
