Release of the New Sponsor System + Deadlines

Release of the New Sponsor System + Deadlines

The first major update for the new UI is here!

Hello everyone. Here is your Season 63 MRC News article, explaining what is coming to the game next week and in the near future. Without further ado, let's get started!

NEW SPONSOR SYSTEM

As you know, since the new UI was fully released, we have been working on a completely new sponsor system for the game. It has been undergoing testing since the beginning of the season, and that phase has just finished. DebiK published a blog two months ago, where he detailed how the system works. However, the blog tool doesn't allow translations, so here are some of the key aspects:

- Expanded database of +300 fictional sponsors (designed to avoid any legal conflicts with real-world brands) from +20 industries. Players with a Superlicense will be able to customise sponsor names and logos.

- Sponsors are now organized by your driver's reputation level. The higher your reputation, the more sponsors will be interested in working with your driver. Global brands wouldn't be eager to sponsor a young, unknown driver. In contrast, smaller, local companies are much more likely to support newcomers. This is represented by a star rating called Sponsor Prestige, which also reflects its budget for promotional activities. A good manager will always choose sponsors wisely, aligning their selection with the driver's current rating to maximize the rewards.

- To begin building your driver's reputation with a company, you'll need a driver employee with a PR Manager skill of at least 10. You can assign different PR Managers to up to 10 sponsors at the same time. The better the overall PR skill, the more effective the interaction will be.

- Building driver reputation with multiple sponsors from the same industry will give suboptimal results, as companies in direct competition are unlikely to respond positively to shared loyalty. To maximize results, it's best to focus on sponsors from different industries.

- The outcome of each sponsor interaction and any resulting change in driver reputation is calculated daily, ensuring consistent progress and feedback as you manage your PR strategy. Once a driver's reputation with a sponsor exceeds 70, the sponsor will send an initial contract offer. At the same time, if the reputation drops below 70, the offer will become invalid and disappear.

- Having a contract offer in place opens the door to negotiations, allowing you to fine-tune the terms to suit your strategy better. You can negotiate all aspects of the sponsor contract. However, remember that negotiating sends a clear message to the sponsor: their offer isn't good enough. As a result, your driver's reputation with that sponsor will slightly decrease. This isn't a major issue unless your demands are unrealistic. A smart manager will weigh the benefits of negotiation against the potential reputation loss, ensuring they get the best deal without damaging sponsor relationships.

- The new system allows you to extend an existing contract once more than half of the contract duration has passed. When extending a contract, you’ll only need to repay a prorated portion of the original signing bonus, based on the remaining time left in the current deal. Importantly, signing an extension also comes with a new signing bonus. If this new bonus is greater than the amount that needs to be repaid, no payment is required. Instead, the new bonus is simply reduced to cover the difference.

- If you're not keen on diving into the sponsor management system, don't worry. You can either ignore it and continue receiving random sponsor offers, or you can let your PR managers handle interactions automatically. While this approach won't unlock season-long contracts, it will still result in reasonably strong offers, allowing you to benefit from the system without micromanaging it.

SEASON-LONG CONTRACTS

Apart from what was explained in the blog, the latest update that hasn't been beta tested by players is season-long contracts. In the new system, you can also sign one "season-long contract", which will add a new layer of depth, including performance clauses. The value of the performance clause will be calculated based on the driver’s rating and the ratings of other drivers already registered for the series. This determines the likelihood of achieving the goal, which in turn affects the bonus amount.

Drivers can accept offered season-long contract deals on day 43 of the season or later. Therefore, these season-long contracts will come into effect early in the morning of day 1 of the following season. After signing any sponsor deal, a driver cannot have more than 3 active contracts. If there are 3 contract deals active early morning of the first day of the season, an agreed season-long offer will be dismissed.

Two drivers in the same season series cannot have a season-long contract with the same sponsor. The driver with the highest rating will sign; others will be cancelled. You will be able to see a list of drivers from your same series with the status of their season-long contract offers, as well as whether those drivers have already committed to another sponsor or not.

It is not allowed to have 2 active contract deals with the same sponsor, nor to have a season-long contract signed with more than 1 sponsor.

Any current contract ends early morning of the day when it is supposed to expire, before other deals can be signed. Therefore, the deal that ends on the first day of the season does not block a season-long deal that should be signed on that day.

Season-long sponsor offers are only available to drivers who race in season series. Drivers who race in Rookie Series won't receive these kinds of offers.

The new sponsor system will be implemented next Monday, October 13th. Remember that this is an exclusive feature of the new user interface. We hope you enjoy it and that you share your feedback with us. For any questions or bug reports, you can use the post from the Worldwide Forum.

Due to the development of the new sponsor system, the implementation of the anticipated new interactive tutorials has been delayed. They will be ready at some point between the second half of season 63 and the start of season 64.
