Q: Hello, FPM8. I see your new young driver Wilsean Dahir who is putting himself up the ranks.
F: Yes, he is.
Q: Now tell me how the last couple of weeks went at the F3 British Camp.
F: Well, this is the 2nd half of the season, so honestly it's like rise and shine, all to play for and it's really working well.
Q: He did phenonomal at Gibalatar and Knockhill
F: Well, we went abroad to Gibalatar, the hardest circuit of the year but Wilsean somehow finished in the top 10 all sessions, equalling his best result (7th) in the sprint race and qualifying in the top 10 for the first time since Thruxton. At Knockhill, it rained for the first race and it was our best chance to take a podium at least but we played safe so we could only get 6th maximum, at the feature race, we got the safety car timing wrong, he had to overtake lots of cars and we got into the top 10, shame we didn't get higher but in terms of peformance, it was the best we've done so far. His driving skills are not that high compared to the others but he's giving his 110%. I honestly thank the mental training for this otherwise he would've been in the wall by now.
Q: We also saw that he had a new Dallara chassis for his birthday, he also have a new livery on his Lola
F: We're only using that for the fun races we do but Wilsean adapted to it quickly. Like the new livery, no?
Q: Besides Wilsean, honestly, who do you see as the best U21 at the moment?
F: This answer is going to be tough, one is Danny Doucet, he's got a high future this kid, no doubt he'll win championships. Vini Barker is also another one, he impressed me when I was managing Wais back then, statically both of their race records, their top-10 ratio is higher than 0.50, that's something that shocks me for a young driver.
Q: Going back to the F3 British Series, there was no top-10 finish at Bedford, the feature is to go!
F: Yep, another track that doesn't suit the Lola at all with its high downforce. We're still trying our best so we're gonna work on it now if we got to take a top-10 finish at least.
