Which Series Will You Race In? The Future Is Decided Now
The curtain rises on the new season, and choices determine every driver's destiny.
With the preseason underway and teams finalizing their lineups, drivers now face one of the most crucial decisions of their careers: choosing the series that will define their path this year. Below, we review the main professional routes available, based on age, budget, and ambition.
Friendly reminder: The goal is to finish as high as possible in your chosen series, aiming to earn as many points as you can throughout the season. That way, sponsors will be happy—and so will your wallet. So if you're thinking about "moving up" a category, make sure you can realistically finish, say, in the top five.
The tables will help you gain better perspective when planning your journey. Good luck!
OPEN WHEELS: Where dreams of glory begin in single-seaters.
If your path leads to Open Wheels and you're under 23, the development options are broad and competitive. The foundation is built in Regional Formulas, where championships like the European F4, Mediterranean F4, or International F4 offer access from just €300,000, with registration open until Day 76 and valuable points (0.4 - 0.6) for advancement. If you're even younger, national U21 competitions are highly recommended to aim for the top of the standings.
For those with more experience and higher ambitions, the classic ladder is still valid: Formula 3, Formula 2, and the highly coveted Formula 1—the undisputed peak of motorsport.
Other alternatives like Indy in America or the versatile Super Formula in Asia provide competitive paths with international prestige.

STOCK CARS: Raw power and strategy on ovals
The world of Stock Cars is for those who value engine power over aerodynamics. Top series like the NASC Gold Cup or NASC Silver Cup require investments ranging from €600,000 to €1,200,000 and guarantee a great show.
For young U25 talents, series like the NASC CaMex Series or Stock Car Brazil are the perfect entry point, with accessible costs starting at €300,000, developmental points, and a competitive calendar. These series are ideal for building character, consistency, and learning how to navigate traffic on ovals and mixed circuits.

MOTORCYCLES: Pure speed and risk in every turn
Those with a passion for two wheels will find total challenge in circuit racing series. From elite levels like MotoGP or Superbike World to development platforms such as Moto3 (U25, from €400,000) or Superbike USA (U26, from €400,000), motorcycling rewards bravery, technique, and aggression.
If you’re looking for a more contained projection, consider Moto E (U25) or regional championships like British Superbike, ideal for sharpening reflexes, consistency, and race vision.

RALLIES: Skill on any terrain, total adaptability
If your thing is racing against the clock on all surfaces, rallies offer an unmatched school of control and adaptability. From the prestigious World Rally Series (2 pts, no age limit, €1,000,000) to development programs like the European Rally Series or Asia Pacific Rally Series, there's a path for every talent.
U21 drivers have an excellent platform in the World Rally Series Junior (0.5 pts, €250,000), with real competition on demanding stages. There’s no room for error here—driver skill makes the difference.

TOURING CARS: Contact, skill, and wheel-to-wheel racing
Touring Cars combine the best of contact motorsport and technical strategy. From the powerful World Prototype Series (2.4 pts, €1,200,000) to the competitive DTWS or the prestigious World TCS, these series offer constant action and overtaking.
Junior series like TCS Benelux or TCS Ibérico (U23, from €300,000) allow young drivers to develop in a technical yet accessible environment, learning to manage heavy cars and long races, with tight competition lap after lap.
