OK Then ----____----

Young British driver Mack Zaggro had one very simple job. Finish ahead of Portuguese rival Messi, and claim the F3 Portugal Crown with a race in hand. A job he did, or at least was doing, without putting a foot wrong as the sense of occasion didn't seem to rattle the 20 year old, who has lead the Series since Week 2.

Alas, today was not the day, nor will this season likely spell the success he was set to achieve as - for literally the first time in his three year career - an engine blowout on lap 17/25 saw the Brit plummet from 1st, to DNF in one painful decent.

As if to compound his misery, Zaggro was left watching, as Messi inherited the lead, claimed his 7th Series victory, and closed a 54 point gap, to just 9...

Mack can take solace from the season at least, entering his second Season in Portugal, the Brit was ranked 6th overall, but has since shown a near-flawless run of consistency to keep his lead intact, and rising to the top ranked driver in the field.
The true outcome of today's logic-defying retirement remains to be seen, but seemingly only a DNF for Messi, or a crazy fortune, or misfortune, could see Zaggro take the title now, starting over 25 places behind the Portuguese driver.

RNG can sting!
