I did not mention how to be fast as a rookie! I saved that information for now. Now the key to winning in MRC in any car or series at every level IS! Tire wear! Knowing the tire wear for various Tire aggressions and different tire compounds. Know when tire wear starts to slow your car significantly. Well that number I will tell you 30% when tire wear drops below 30% you car slows down and risks of mistakes increases. So got your garage and set all minimum tire wears to 30%! Next while your in there a good number for minimum car repairs is 15%
Now how to find tire wear for each tire aggression. The first you can do already easily. If you run 100% tire aggression in qauls. 1 qaul attempt is 1 laps but you have entry and exit laps so it's 3 laps.. so in f3 race that means 6 laps and you already have the wear from 1 setr of 100% tire. simple math of that wear % left.. ok example you qualified on 100% tires and did 100 tire aggression your tire now at 84% so divide 16% by 6 = 2.67% per lap using 100% tire aggression.
Now you need different amounts let say 80% tire aggression.. That you need to run a test lap in practice or warmup before the race. simply set the tire aggression on a tire with more then 70% left.. run the lap if tire was say 80% look for the lap tires hit closest to 10%. That is number of laps yo can run at 70% In many cases you can run a lot more.. That is good to know also..
Using and recording tire wear for every track will help you both form strategies on how to race the fastest always for both your drivers skill level and the car you are using. This is what Make champions at every level in MRC!
Use this or not! But if you don't know your tire wear Every Veteran driver who does will beat you 95% of the time.
