Better results in Queensland!

After terrible results in the first weeks of the new season, the 19 year old Tobias R. Steegs has finally managed to finish both races.

After a qualification finish in 9th position, he managed to defend that position in both the sprint race and the feature race.

Doing just enough to regain some faith in his own abilities.
We didn't speak to the driver, because he needed some time off with his girlfriend, so we spoke to his manager instead.

Me:
There has been a lot of pressure the last couple of weeks, what have you done different in preparation for the Queensland races?

René:
There has been a lot of pressure on Tobias indeed, but not from us, he's put that pressure on himself. Even though we told him numerous times that everything was going to be alright. We gave him 3 days off before the qualifications for Queensland. No quick races, no single races, and luckily the custom series finished as well. So he had some time for himself. He came back the evening before the quals and he was so relaxed. It was actually a pleasure to have him around again.

Me:
Just before Tobias got in the car for the sprint race, I saw that you took him to the side and had a word with him one on one. What did you say to him?

René:
I told him I was proud of him that he regained composure and his strength, and no matter what happened this season, he would be my number 1 driver. I also advised him not to take any risks at all in both the sprint race and the feature race. All he needed to do was defend his position, don't take risks overtaking anyone, just stay in 9th.

He's done that successfully. We'll hope to see the same Tobias in this weeks Hammilton races. Thanks for your time.
