Austen walked in uncertain but confident in his abilities. A world of unknowns in terms of pace as well as control of the car, he walked into qualifying with his head held high. 

After putting in a valiant effort with a minor mistake, he held 5th, just three tenths off pole. I got a chance to speak with him after and I asked him how he felt he had done. He replied,”Honestly, I’m satisfied, I pushed as hard as I could out there and even with the mistake P5 is strong, Looking Forward to tomorrow.”

So, Race day comes around and Austen came ready. As the race went on, the pace was a big stagnant and he found himself fighting for his qualifying position of 5th. An unlucky stop and some mistakes got him nipped of 5th to finish the race in 6th. Austen felt like some was left on the table but again overall he was happy with the performance of the car and felt he had more pace if he had minimized errors. He is looking forward to race number 2 and all further races!
