Yamanaka proves that she's legit at Motegi

After two disastrous races, Rookie 22 year old driver Yamanaka finally showed the world that she deserves her spot in the international racing scene.

She started at the 26th spot and managed to finish the race at the 10 position. Unlike her previous races, on this one, she methodically and safely made her way up, going through 16 positions for the top 10 finish.

"Yes, I changed my driving style and the team really did a great job in backing me up. Pit strategy, execution. It was excellent. I won't be here talking about this to you guys if not for them. They deserve a ton of credit."

Asked about her feelings for the next races, this is what she has to say:

"Of course, we're aiming high. Hopefully, we can get this thing rolling and finish better next time. I am happy with today's performance."

As a side note, Yamanaka is a half-Japanese. She stated that she'll be staying here for a couple of more days.

"It's my dad's home country. I want to explore it more. I still have some more free time before the next race so it's all good."

Yamanaka's next race will be at Saint-Pie in Canada.
