You'll need to do well in the season series races in particular to raise your rating.  Quick/Single Races have a minor impact which becomes proportionately smaller as you advance.

You should have the schedule for the Rookie Series available to you in the "Races" section now.  There's a qualifying session and two races per week for 10 weeks.  As an extra note, you might want to consider using this first season as a feeling out process to get used to the game, and then create a new 18yo with 80's in all three personal skills on day 71, giving you time to then sign up to one of the U21 series.  Your rating doesn't matter too much for entering series as long as you don't spend your initial money, as you receive priority over all bot entrants.
