Qualifying Report - G Merisi

Novice racer Giovanni Merisi completed his first qualifying session in the Quick Cup IX series at the Slovakiaring.

The novice British driver did a decent job especially for someone with so little experience. The race tomorrow will be the 5th of his career at this level. Throughout the weekend the team has been experiencing tyre tempareture issues and this was shown in qualifying where a lock up into turn 1 caused him to lose time and this meant he was unable to improve on his first timed lap of the session. This left him slowest of the Volkswagen runners in 21st.

Giovanni and his race engineer Harald have identified some changes which will be done overnight and hopefully they will improve the car and lead to a good race tomorrow.

We are looking for Giovanni to have a good race and pick up some valueable experience against a good quality field.
