F3 American Series Drama

The new season looks like it will be an interesting one for US driver Kurt Morrison. We sent Spencer Long to interview him.

SL: So Kurt, how did you feel about qualifying 9th despite being at the top of the practice charts?

KM: Well, I've never done well in qualifying. I've been getting better, but I usually do better in actual races than I do in qualifying. But if I learned anything from qualifying, it's that the Rage drivers have some good cars.

SL: I'm glad you brought them up, because there has been some news regarding Rage Motorsports. Mainly how Ray Harroun's car owner John Stone has insinuated that what Rage is doing is unfair, even talking about starting his own F3 multi-car race team in response. Nick Wheeler responded by saying that Stone "needs attitude adjustments". Your feelings on the matter?

KM: Well, Wheeler likes to make his thoughts public, and Rage definitely has a giant target on their back because of it. Listen, I hate to comment on them much because I don't know Wheeler, or Stone, or Harroun, or anybody else involved. Stone's got a point, but I don't think that what Rage is doing is illegal or unfair to the other competitors. But in the end, the talk means nothing. What really matters is what happens on the racetrack. Anybody can just run their mouth, but if they can't back it up on the racetrack, then they're wasting our time and theirs.

SL: Well it definitely looks like it will be a very interesting season in F3 American Series. Thank you for your time, Kurt, and good luck this season.

KM: Thanks, and my pleasure.
