Young Filipina debuting at Daytona!

It's a beautiful spring morning in Daytona and everyone is all excited for the upcoming World Ovals race today! Among the familiar faces is a newcomer from the other side of the globe making her international debut. That person is Yuri Yamanaka, the 22 year old Filipina-Japanese from Manila, Philippines.

Asked about her thoughts of the upcoming race, this is what she has to say:


"I am so excited and nervous at the same time. Of course, the level of expertise is different but me and my teamwon't me here if we're not up to par. We came here to race and I sure hope to please the fans."

She also said that the Philippines is underrepresented in the international racing scene. It is a huge honor for her to represent her home country into this international event.
