I can't help but roll around laughing.. Reactions Is reflex's maybe 1 part in 10 is mental ability to recoginize it's time to do something Now.. That why Old atheletes forced to leave the sports they love.. There mind is sharper then any 18 year in the sport but their Body reflexs are so poor they cannot react in time to do what they see coming.. Try hiting a 95 mph fastball at even 30 byt time your 40 you can see it's a fast ball as it leave his hand you seen it 100,000 times before but your reflexs can't get the bat around Fast enough..
By your description a F1 driver would never have to leave the sport because He is mentally sharper therefore his reactions is better,
Call it reflex or reactions Is mostly physical.. Once again you cannot even train someone to have a Higher IQ but it takes them more time to recall the same knowledge.
If your assuming a simulator is mental it's really more like a computerized Universal gym. There are things Called drills That you do to hon your reflexs so you can react properly when the situation occurs.. we did these not only in sports but also in military. You can talk all day about how to do something until you physically attempt it you not even close to being fast.
