This week in La Familia Pegaso: Wk 1

Escuderia Pegaso scored 14 points at the Australian Grand Prix to leave the Land Down Under third in the Formula 1 constructors championship standings behind Red Bull and Porsche, and three points ahead of Ferrari. Canadian Howard Dewitt had a sixth place finish, while Spain’s Alberto Puig took seventh place and six points driving for his home country’s F1 team.

There’s so much more to Pegaso than its Formula 1 team. The flying horses are branching into all sections of the auto racing world and battling for podiums at several levels of motorsport. This report is brought to you by SPS — Serious Problem Solvers. And by Carlsborg — the best beer A.I. can generate.

Around the World of Pegaso:

F3 World Series — Ukrainian Denys Mlynar won a 20-lap sprint at Manfield Circuit in New Zealand to start his Season 60 campaign at the top of the podium. Mlynar pushed his Alfa Romeo-powered Mygale to its limit, but maintained just enough tire tread to hold off Hungarian Sanko Czobar to cross the finish line first.

CART — Elisabet Alemany had a third place finish at the Monterey Grand Prix. The two-time NASC Gold Cup champion from Spain overtook Russian Dmitry Starostachev late in the race to make the podium. Alemany was second in the CART standings in Season 59.

Hypercar — Belgian Thibau Boutsen made the podium with a third place finish at the Rolex Daytona 1200 endurance race at the “World Center of Racing.” Pegaso drivers Jan Bonmati (Spain) and Brendan McGee (United States) also had top 10 finishes.

NASC Gold Cup — Esteban Lozada took third place at the Atlanta 400 in his No. 17 Escuderia Pegaso Toyota Camry. The Season 59 Rookie of the Year ranks third overall in the Gold Cup standings after two races.

TCS Europe — Spaniard Juan Barnard qualified third, took second in the sprint and took third in the feature at Paul Ricard in France. Barnard ranks second in the TCS Europe standings behind Poland’s Arkadiusz Wrona IV, who swept first place finishes over three days of racing in Le Castellet on the French Riviera.

F4 Finnish Series — Christian Mellado Corrales stood on the podium with a second place finish in a 35-lap sprint race at Alastaro. Pegaso’s Nicolas Carrasco earned a fifth place finish.

Until next time. “En las alas de un caballo.”
