New Kid on the Block!

There is a lot of action on the Imola pit lane as drivers are preparing themselves for the qualification of the sixth week's Rookie series race. Manager von Merton's press conference causes even more action to the paddock. Let's hear what von Merton has to say.

von Merton: "Hello all and welcome to my first press conference. I have invited you here in order to tell you a bit about our new team.

A few weeks ago I decided to help a new Finnish tallent towards the top of the international motor sports. And now I have the pleasure to introduce Lumi Vaara to all of you!

We have been cooperating with the 18 year old Lumi for a bit over a week now. I believe Lumi has a bright future ahead of her.

When I was looking for the next superstart I wanted to find a youngster with the potential and ability to grow to a great driver. A few drivers I interviewed were close to what I wanted. But Lumi was clearly the most capable talent. She is very quick learner and works very well together with the rest of the team. These two skills were the most important for me.

For a young talent it's hard to learn all by themselves. So I saw it crucial to have good coaches and mentors for Lumi right at the beginning. Our first hire was Artem Shirko. His primary responsibility is to coach Lumi with her driving skills. But what makes Artem such a great find is his ability to help Lumi with her PR also. With Artem's help we have already found some good sponsors help us fund Lumi's evening school courses.

Lumi hasn't driven F3 cars before. So we needed someone to help Lumi to understand the behaviour of the car. After a short search I was able to hire Peter Rothengatter to help Lumi with the car setup. He is vital part in helping Lumi to setup the car the way she feels the best.

I'm very happy with the progress Lumi has shown so far learning the new skills. She has proven my choice to be the right one. I believe we will have a long and great future ahead of us.
